Merrill - try Whole Foods bulk food section. Also about a year ago I got a big bag of Farro at Costco but have not seen it since. Keep your eyes out for it. You can also sub with spelt if you'd like.

I'm just wondering how much a week you normally spend on groceries for your family? And where your favorite place to shop is...

We've been doing a lot of Trader Joe's shopping and its not too pricey but then we get lazy and buy some premade stuff we could make easily ourselves...kind of bums me out but we're at a minor bump in our road with prepping for DH to deploy. Can't wait until we're all back and living under one roof so I can start cooking all this stuff again!

Oh...and when you make chicken and fish sticks can you freeze them?

With G, our oldest, I waited until he was 18 months (although some pediatricians say to wait longer, some not to worry if the family has no food allergies). Since we have no food allergies in our family, and since big G did okay, I provided Lil J with pb at 12 months. But always check with pediatrician first!

Regarding shellfish - According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), if your family does not have a history of allergies, once your child consumes solid foods he/she can try fish and shellfish. If your family has a strong hx then wait till around 3 years. Again, check with the doc first.

I don't know where my post to this went! Oops! Anyways, that sounds really yummy. When did you first give Lil J peanut butter? We haven't given any to Yoda yet. :) How about shellfish?

Had such a great time, as always, minus both of my sons mistaking humans for chicken. :-\ My silverware looks really shiny! Oh, and that bottle of wine... it's gone. HA.
