Great Cooking Classes at Coastal Cupboard

Last week some girlfriends and I took a mid-morning cooking class at The Coastal Cupboard.  I’ve attended four of their classes now and have never been let down: they know how to treat their guests well.  This particular class was a “Moms Morning Out Brunch” with in-house chef Stephen Harman.

In usual Coastal Cupboard fashion, guests are pampered: where else can a mom get a refreshing mimosa at 10 in the morning on a Friday??  Chef Stephen Harman, an experienced chef and outstanding instructor, led us through three tasty recipes that were not only flavorful, but practical to make at home for our own sure-to-impress brunch.  Who can resist a pecan crusted french toast made from challah bread, poached shrimp served over fresh grilled fruit salad, and homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream?  Delicious!

I had such a nice time with my girlfriends watching Stephen prepare the meals and chatting it up that I neglected to take many pictures.  But I think the following give you a good idea of what to expect if you sign up for a class.  The Coastal Cupboard offers culinary classes for the first-time cook down to the experienced home cook.  Classes are interactive, fun, and always entertaining.  Chef Stephen conducts most of the classes, but they frequently invite guest chefs or other cooking pros.   I have yet to be disappointed.

Classes fill up fast, so be on the lookout and sign up as soon as you find what you are interested in.

Want more motivation to attend a class?  The Coastal Cupboard offers a 10% discount on any item in their store if you shop after the class.  And if you have never been in the store before, prepare yourself for you will want to buy everything!

Hope to see some fellow Eat Well Charleston followers at a future class!
